OSL take:

Sri Lanka is continuing with the campaign of attracting foreign businesses/investors into the country, which has embarked on a journey to become a hub in the South Asian region. Local authorities as well as private sector stakeholders continue to engage in promotional campaigns in foreign markets while the Sri Lankan government is also working on further strengthening trade ties with foreign countries to include more foreign markets. Sri Lanka’s trade and tourism sectors are two key sectors that are on a steady growth path and are also key revenue generators to the country. Driven by the steady growth, the trade and tourism sectors are on an expansion path, thereby opening many business/investment opportunities for foreign businesses/investors. The increasing business potential in Sri Lanka’s manufacturing, export and tourism sectors is evident by the growth as well as profits recorded by businesses already engaged in these sectors and the interest shown by an increasing number of foreign businesses/investors expressing interest in engaging in these sectors. Foreign businesses/investors could therefore explore the expanding business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s manufacturing, export and tourism sectors while also looking at expanding operations through partnerships or joint ventures with local businesses.
