Sri Lanka awards power utility equipment supply to TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group Company Ltd
Sri Lanka’s Government Information Department has reportedly announced that the government of Sri Lanka has awarded a US$ 5.1 million of contracts to TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group Company Ltd to supply equipment to the country’s power utility.
The Government Information Department has stated that the firm will supply three transformers in two deals of US$ 2.6 million and US$ 2.5 million.
Accordingly, the transformers will be used in the Kotugoda grid sub-station of state operated Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
According to the statement, the Cabinet of Ministers had approved the award of the contract to TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group Company Ltd.

The awarding of the equipment supply contract to TBEA Shenyang Transformers and similar supply cobtracts are yet another business opportunity for foreign businesses/investors to explore in Sri Lanka. Given the country’s ambitious development programme there has been an expansion in business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
