Leading brands step forward to form Positive Sri Lanka initiative to boost economy

Leading brands in the Sri Lankan market have stepped forward to form the Positive Sri Lanka initiative aimed at boosting the country’s economy.
The initiative is reportedly generating an overwhelming response from the local business community with leading brands coming forward to assist economic growth.
The local media reported that the initiative that was launched last week is now witnessing more businesses coming forward to pledge their support by way of discounts for shoppers, special deals, free publicity and many other exciting promos to attract tourists to come shop, enjoy, and be entertained.
According to media reports, all businesses are urged to step forward and be part of this unique collaboration to support the country in time of need.
Accordingly, aome of the leading brands that have come onboard this initiative in recent days are Spa Ceylon, Ministry of Crab, Vision Care, Elephant House, Unilever, Munchee, SriLankan Airlines Hemas and Kandy City Centre.
The Positive Sri Lanka campaign was launched on last month at the Galle Face Hotel in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and other prominent business leaders including CEOs, CFOs and CMOs of potential retailers, trade bodies, leisure sector, bankers, FMCGs and MNCs.
Reports further state that the business objective of this not-for-profit campaign is to generate Rs. 90 billion worth of revenue inside the country over a short period of two months in a bold bid to jumpstart the economy once again, with proactive participation across Retail, Consumer Goods, Sports and Entertainment, Leisure, Travel and Hospitality, Education, Health, Culture and Heritage, Art, Fashion and Connectivity sectors.
Sri Lanka Tourism has officially endorsed the campaign and has been given the rights to use the So Sri Lanka logo on all its communication.
Partners who have already pledged allegiance to the campaign are Retail Association of Sri Lanka, Bar and Restaurant Association, SLAITO, and CIMA as the main bodies bringing their retail locations and affiliates on board.
Many media networks have reportedly also pledged support by way of free print space, airtime, and space on social media platforms and has also gone on to offer special advertising rates to all Positive Campaigns.
