Ceylon Motor Traders Association to draw up policy document on future mobility plan for Sri Lanka

Ceylon Motor Traders Association (CMTA), which represents agents of global automakers, has reportedly stated they were planning to draw up a policy document on a future mobility plan for Sri Lanka.
“The CMTA is looking to work with international applied research agencies, and international donors to create this document,” the Association has said in a statement.
“Once created, the association will work closely with the government towards the implementation of the recommended policy.”
The members of the CMTA collectively employ and train thousands of Sri Lankans, and bring in international best practices in engineering and management, making a labour pool that is employable internationally, the Association has added.

OSL take:

Sri Lanka is currently in need of a mobility plan targeting the future. The government of Sri Lanka has already announced its policy of promoting energy efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles in the future. Foreign automobile businesses could approach the CMTA and explore business opportunities in Sri Lanka’s automobile and transport sectors.
