Sri Lanka and the World Bank have reportedly signed two new agreements worth US$150 million last week to improve climate resilience and agriculture productivity for small farmers and support priority infrastructure through public-private partnerships (PPPs).
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has reportedly stated that the country’s manufacturing and services sectors have recorded a growth in March 2019 from a month earlier ahead of the seasonal demand for the traditional Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Sri Lanka’s Hambantota International Port (HIP) has reportedly awarded a tender to Sinopec Fuel Oil Sales Co. Ltd. for oil trading works and the operation and maintenance of their oil tank terminal along with associated facilities.
Sri Lanka is to receive a concessionary loan of US$ 50 million (Rs. 8.7 billion) from Saudi Arabia to set up a fully-equipped medical faculty at state-owned Sabaragamuwa University in Ratnapura.
