Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Chamber of Commerce organizes investor forum in June to showcase opportunities and build partnerships

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka is reportedly organizing an investor forum this June where investors can find out the latest guidelines for decision-making and meet government officials and prospective business partners.
The ‘Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave 2018’ will be held from 19th to 21st June 2018 for the third consecutive year at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has announced in a statement.
The conclave website, www.invest-srilanka.lk, facilitates participants to register and schedule B2B meetings online.
According to reports, the forum is being held in association with government ministries and departments, diplomatic missions overseas, international agencies and 127 Chambers of Commerce, which the Ceylon Chamber has partnerships with.
The statement by the chamber has said the inauguration on 19th June will be followed by a ‘Strategic Networking Event’ facilitating participants to directly network with senior ministers and officials attached to various government institutions in addition to participants from other countries.
“On 20th June, there will be B2B and G2B business matchmaking sessions followed by four parallel breakout sessions on Navigating the Operating Landscape – Regulations – Tax – Forex – Land, Projects in the Pipeline: PPP and Western Region Megapolis Project, Thriving from the growing Capital Markets and Plugging into opportunities: Port City, Tourism, Logistics and Agriculture.”

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has also noted that new urbanization initiatives with new opportunities for investment has open doors for potential investors to set up joint ventures in Sri Lanka, which has one of the lowest corporate tax rates in the region. Therefore, the investor conclave will provide an opportunity for foreign businesses/investors to gauge the business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
