Sri Lankan businessman decides to sell of his shares in Anilana Hotels listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange

Well known Sri Lankan businessman Asanga Seneviratne has reportedly decided to sell some of his shares in Anilana Hotels (ALHP), which is listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).
According to reports, Investor Access Equities, a company in which Seneviratne is a Director and major shareholder, has on September 4th sold 300,000 shares at a price of Rs. 1.2/share. This information became public via a CSE disclosure released recently.
A local media report stated that these sales are at the same price in which new ALHP controlling shareholder SOMAP will be making their mandatory offer.

Sri Lanka’s tourism sector is on an upward route and developments in the field are on the increase. It is in this backdrop that businessman Seneviratne is looking at selling some of his shares at Anilana Hotels. Given the continuous growth recorded by the country’s tourism sector, foreign businesses could look at investing in such ventures and explore for similar opportunities in the country.
